Year 6

Welcome to Year 6

Class Teacher: Mrs H Johnson and Mrs E McCormick

Here in year 6 we strive to embrace our school ethos in all that we do.

Shine within themselves

We recognise and are thankful for the many wonderful opportunities we have in year 6. From exhilarating school trips such as our residential at East Barnby to being the role models for our school, we seize every opportunity that comes our way to help us grow in all areas of school life.

Shine for our community

As a church school, our Christian values are at the heart of everything we do. We recognise the value of friendship, love and forgiveness and help others to recognise these values too.

Shine out to the world

We are a welcoming, friendly class and we are always keen to invite people into our classroom. We endeavour to be the best that we can be, to be resilient, to challenge ourselves and to always aim high and in order to do this we work with one another, support one another.

We are proud to call ourselves year 6 pupils – together, we light the way for others.

In year 6 we study many exciting and interesting topics such as: The Impact of War, Ancient Cilvilisations, Mexico and Ancient Maya, The Polar Regions and Charles Darwin’s explorations. Our learning is purposeful, engaging and helps prepare us for moving onto secondary school.
