Year 2 is such an exciting year as the children progress through their journey at KGB school. The children are encouraged to become more independent and take more responsibility for their own learning. Year 2 is taught by Mrs Jenkins and Mrs Talkington with the support of Miss Read and Mrs Atkinson.
This year the topics we are learning are:
- What the weather like in our school grounds?
- Where kings and queens live through time
- How we find out about the world.
- How the Great Fire changed London
- What its like to live by the coast
- Where humans have explored.
In Science the children consider:
- why we need to keep healthy.
- how materials are chosen by design.
- how seeds and bulbs grow.
- how we know something is alive.
This year Year 2 will have the opportunity to experience Wisdom of the Woods during the Spring term.
Each term the children have an opportunity to undertake a presentation to the rest of the class on a topic of their choice. The children love this and it helps them gain confidence whilst developing their oracy skills.
