Job Advertisement: Nursery Teaching Assistant  (Level 3)

Position: Nursery Teaching Assistant (Level 3 ) Permanent

Location: Kirkby and Great Broughton CE VA School

SCP 3 level 3  £22,737 full year, £11.79 per hour.

(There is potential of SCP 4/5 for a candidate who can demonstrate they can take the lead role in the nursery, work with the EYFS lead regarding planning, organise enrichment activities and be the key parent contact. Please make it clear in your application if you wish to be considered for this role)

SCP 4/5  £23,114-£23,500  £11.98-£12.18 per hour

Hours of Working: 08:30-15:15 Monday-Friday, Term Time Only (38 weeks per year plus 5 INSET days). Plus, additional variable hours in wraparound care for a level 3 role. We are open to considering part time roles if necessary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the set-up and development of the new nursery provision.
  • Support the day-to day running of the nursery
  • Support the delivery of high-quality early years education and care to children aged 3-4 years old.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to learn.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to plan and implement engaging activities that promote children’s development across all areas.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to children, ensuring their well-being and safety.
  • Maintain positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and well-being.
  • Supporting under 5s in ‘Rising Stars’, our wraparound provision.
  • On occasions may need to work in other areas of the school
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and maintain accurate records

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or relevant field. (Please see Early years qualifications achieved in the United Kingdom – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) )
  • Good knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
  • Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting is desirable
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and helping them learn and grow.
  • Flexibility to work across the nursery and primary school as required including the possibility of wraparound care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive learning environment.
  • Commitment to upholding safeguarding and welfare procedures.
